It all began when Dave – slightly frustrated at the lack of recognition being received for his small shop that had recently opened in his home town centre and also for his business marketing and selling goods on eBay – decided to turn to Facebook and Twitter in his hour of need.

He realised that by giving these businesses a social media profile, he could generate far more client awareness than he had done previously.

So here it was, a ‘vehicle’ to drive his 2 small businesses forward at a decent speed targeting potential customers through social media with a direct link to his business website.

Fast forward 5 years later to 2013, NorthWalesSocial (formerly named NorthWalesTweets) was born and by simply promoting a weekly hour on Twitter (#NWalesHour – every Thursday evening) this meant thousands of people and business owners were able to connect with others they had not previously come into contact with.
This became hugely successful, a reliable online meeting place where people could get together and share the events of their week with others.

12 months later (March 2014) and Dave introduces onlookers to the first ever ‘tweetup event’ in North Wales, a regular monthly meeting held at different North Wales venues where people would travel to and engage in groups with others they had met on Twitter and Facebook in previous weeks. Twitter education and business networking creating new connections being the big draw for all who attended.

Up to the present day and Dave is as dedicated and passionate about the uses of social media now as he has ever been, educating managers and staff across North Wales and the North West over the internet and through on-site visits.
